About Us

QUARRY is a 250-cap DIY music venue committed to supporting Liverpool’s grassroots music scene, run by music lovers for music lovers. Since opening in 2020, QUARRY has become a home for the city’s diverse and vibrant underground scene — a space for alternative, experimental and forward-thinking music that might not find a stage elsewhere.

As a venue and organisation, our aim is simple: to support Liverpool’s grassroots music scene and its diverse communities. Being DIY means keeping ticket prices fair, giving artists creative control over their shows, and putting community ownership ahead of profit. QUARRY is run by a small collective of promoters, sound engineers, and gig-goers who wanted a space that put artists first – there is no corporate backing, just people who care about the scene doing the work themselves.

That care extends to how a show sounds. QUARRY is built around a proper, well-maintained d&b C-Series PA and an acoustically treated live room, with a team who understand it. Grassroots music deserves the same standard of sound as any bigger stage. Whether it’s a solo artist or a full band, a seasoned live musician or first-time performer, we want every act to be heard exactly as they intended.

In addition to supporting the local scene, QUARRY welcomes national and international touring artists to Liverpool. Previous artists to play QUARRY include Xiu Xiu, Lydia Lunch, YHWH Nailgun, Prostitute, Jane Weaver, Memorials, Westside Cowboy, Big Joanie, DJ Haram, Shallowater, Pharmakon, and many more.

QUARRY started life at 17 Love Lane, where it built its reputation as one of Liverpool’s most exciting independent venues. In September 2025, we moved to 45 Hardman Street — the former premises of legendary Liverpool clubs The Sink Club and The Magnet. It’s a location steeped in the city’s musical history, and one we’re proud to carry forward as we continue building a space for the next generation of Liverpool music.
